Participants

General

Participants are contributors and rights holders such as producers, musicians, authors, and publishers.

While Artists are the visible names on releases and Partners are the contractual parties, Participants describe the creative role in a work. If a person appears in multiple roles, it must be created separately for each.

They are maintained here and can be linked to a recording or a work in:

• Track Edit → Credits
• Work Edit → IP Chain

There are two types of Participants:

• Creatives are individuals such as composers or musicians
• Publishers are companies that publish works

General

First, select the participant type: Creative or Publisher.

For a Creative, you can enter their first and last name, as well as a pseudonym.

For a Publisher, only the company name is required.

IP Name Number

For both, you can enter the IP Name Number.

Society Affiliations

You can add multiple society affiliations that the participant is member of, such as GEMA or ASCAP, by selecting the society from the dropdown.

Tracks

In the Tracks module, you see all tracks the participant is credited on.

Participants and their roles can be assigned to a Track in Track Edit, under Credits.

Migration

Sometimes you might have duplicate participants in your database. In the Migration module, you can merge those duplicates into the current participant. Select the duplicate from the dropdown and click "Merge". All references to the duplicate will be updated to point to the current participant, and the duplicate will be deleted.
